No accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no ads, no cookies. Your settings, coins and progress are stored only in your own browser (localStorage) and never leave your device.
Multiplayer: your player name, car and position are exchanged live with other players in your room, relayed through Cloudflare Workers. Chat messages go the same way. Positions and cars are never recorded; the most recent room-chat messages are kept briefly server-side for moderation and then discarded. Players never exchange IP addresses with each other. (Adding ?p2p=1 to the URL switches to direct peer-to-peer instead, which is lower latency but does reveal your IP address to everyone in the room.)
REAL MAP: your search text or approximate coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap services (Overpass API, Nominatim) solely to build the map you asked for.
The pixel font loads from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when it is fetched.
8DRIFT is a work of fiction. Coins, wagers and purchases are virtual play-money with no real-world value; nothing in this game can be bought or sold for real money, and no real-money gambling takes place. The game is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind.
